Geography, Sub-Saharan Africa, which statement is false?
I’m taking an online geography course and I cannot find the answer to this question anywhere in the book. If you can help, thank you!
Which of the following statements is false?
A. The majority of Africa’s population is engaged in agriculture for their livelihoods
B. Most of Africa’s political boundaries were drawn during the colonial period with little regard for the continent’s patterns of human occupancy
C. The African continent is located at the center of our planet’s landmasses
D. Due to Africa’s difficult agricultural environment, numerous environmental hazards, diseases, and periodic food shortages, the continent’s population growth rate is below the worldwide average
E. Africa today contains to colonial countries
I believe the answer is D, but I’m not entirely sure. I know that many of the countries in Sub Saharan Africa have had significant population growth, but all of the countries combined have a population only about half of what China does.
Africa’s growth rate is well above the International Average. So the answer cannot possibly be D. Is it two or no in E.? Also Western Sahara is widely considered to be a colony of Morocco, so that would challenge the answer either way. It may mean European Colony though, so in that case the answer would be E., if the word isn’t no. If the word is no then none of the answers are correct and the question is poorly written. I don’t know about c, because it is hard to find the center of a sphere.
