Is travel by cycles or anything similar fashionable in perth,wa? fashionable, cheap rent wise and safe?

I need to travel from Beatty lodge or any other place I will take accomodation from to UWA Agriculture/ Perry lakes. What should I do to minimise the cost of transport?

Perth has a fairly good network of cycle paths, but the paths dont cover all of the metropolitan area. Perth city is not perfect for cycling, it has not become as popular here as in other cities, but it certainly isnt unpopular! You can easily cycle to the places you mentioned, even cycling on the roads is safe.
Another option is to get a Smart Rider card for the Public Transport, which you swipe on and off the bus/train, and if you are a student you will get discounted fares. An all day fare will usually be the most economical.
