Conservation Agriculture Techniques

conservation agriculture techniques
What field of agriculture should I be studying and majoring in?

I know what i would like to do but i don’t know where i should go and what actual field i should study.

I would like to concentrate on small scale food production and techniques, environmental concerns and practices and just soil conservation and things along those lines. I’m interested in joining the peace corps so i would want studies to help me in the concerns and techniques I would need in that.

It sounds like you’re looking for something along the lines of crop and soil sciences, which at some colleges just might be called agronomy. A degree course in this will cover everything that you listed, with electives available that can cover these in great depth. For your interest in the peace corps, some colleges do offer environmental science path (may be under a different name) to this degree. Which will focus more on soil conservation, erosion control, runoff, etc. than say an agronomic or turfgrass path would. Also keep in mind that there will likely be some non agricultural classes offered that you will find helpful to take as electives.
