Tentofiled is correct that the WTO has declared that Australia’s quarantine ban on NZ apples must go as they believe firbelight is not a risk to our orchards. Australia was on the other side of this about 10 years ago with lamb exports to the US, the WTO declared that the US cannot restrict out lamb export into their markets, the US just ignored this and the government just rolled over. I want to see our government demand an indemnity from NZ that if fruit from their diseased trees does infect our orchards then NZ must pay for the loss.
Why buy NZ apples anyway Australia especially Tasmania grows fantastic apples, great value, grate tasting and not from diseased trees.
